Barbara French Pace

Washington DC artist Barbara French Pace works in both oil and acrylic to capture the mood of landscapes from misty marshes to rustic villages. Subtle colors and multiple layers of paint convey the texture of trees, walls, and terrain in sunlight and shadow.

Complementing her painting, Pace has switched from black-and-white to digital color photography in recent years. She looks for stark compositions that convey visual textures and a strong sense of place.

Her work is on exhibit in Bethesda, MD [www.waverlystreeetgallery.com] and other locations in the mid-Atlantic region, including the Stone Tower Studio at Glen Echo, MD, during July 2010.
